Sarah Palin resigns as Alaska governor (video)
Sarah Palin said on Friday that she will resign as Alaska governor later this month and return to private life. The 2008 Republican Party vice-presidential nominee took no questions after a brief news conference in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska.
Palin did not give specific reasons for her decision but there has been a lot of speculation that she would run for president in 2012. However, she did not address those rumors in the press conference. Palin will be replaced by Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell.
