Poinsettia Bowl 2010: Navy vs. San Diego State Live Stream (Free Online Video)
Poinsettia Bowl Live Stream: The 2010 Poinsettia Bowl between the San Diego State Aztecs and the Navy Midshipmen will be played as scheduled this evening (8:00 PM ET) because the playing field at Qualcomm Stadium is no longer submerged.
The ground crew spent all night pumping gallons of water from the field into the parking lot after several days of heavy rain left the stadium virtually under water. It rained so hard Tuesday in Southern California that the two teams practiced in hotel ballrooms. But according Poinsettia Bowl executive director Bruce Binkowski, “the field will be ready” and the game will kick off as scheduled.
Tonight’s match features outstanding offensive teams with contrasting styles. The Midshipmen’s triple option offense has produced some of the most creative rushing attacks in the country in the last few seasons, thanks to quarterback Ricky Dobbs and running back Alexander Teich. Last year in the Texas Bowl, Navy thrashed Missouri, 35-13.
The Aztecs, meanwhile, have a dynamic and balanced offense this season. They rank 11th nationally in passing, 19th in total offense and 20th in scoring. This is the first bowl appearance for SDSU since the 1998 Las Vegas Bowl, so naturally there could be some nerves to start.
UPDATE: Ronnie Hillman scored four touchdowns to lead the Aztecs to their first bowl victory since 1969, a 35-14 win over the Navy Midshipmen.
