Premier League: Chelsea vs. Fulham

Ninth placed Fulham takes on Premier League leaders Chelsea in a West London derby this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have suffered a pretty disappointing month having only won once in seven games although Carlo Ancelotti’s men can take comfort from the fact that they still lead the EPL standings.

Chelsea leads defending champion Manchester United by two points.

The Cottagers, on the other hand, are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions, and have conceded just one goal in four league games this month. However, they have gone seven games without an away win. Their last victory was against Pompey in the opening day of the season.

Meanwhile Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou have been granted permission by Ivory Coast to play in today’s clash. Both strikers had been required to link up with their national team in advance of January’s African Nations Cup but Ivory Coast has delayed the date of their departure until December 29.

The match kicks-off at 15:00 GMT.

UPDATE: The Blues came from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 and restore their lead at the Premier League summit to five points.
