Chelsea vs. Liverpool Live Stream: Premier League leaders Chelsea, fresh from their seven-goal thrashing of Stoke City last week, take on seventh-placed Liverpool this afternoon. With just two games of the season remaining, a victory for Carlo Ancelotti’s side could win the title if Manchester United stumble at Sunderland. The Blues defeated Liverpool 2-0 at Stamford Bridge back in October and the Reds are looking for revenge.
The Red Devils are a point behind Chelsea at the top of standings and could benefit if the Merseyside club beat the West Londoners, or hold them to a draw. The Blues have not beaten the Reds at Anfield in the EPL since Jose Mourinho left the club, but they did win 3-1 there last season in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Although Liverpool lost out to Atletico Madrid for a place in the Europa League final on Thursday, Rafa Benitez’s side still has a small chance of taking the fourth spot, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Sir Alex Ferguson, the United boss, is convinced that the Reds will not lie down for Chelsea. In an interview, he said: “Great clubs don’t throw their histories away; they don’t throw their traditions away for one game.”
This clash promises to be a nerve wracking event, yet Ancelotti is relishing his first trip to Anfield as a player or manager.
“I am excited because everyone speaks about the stadium and its atmosphere,” the Italian said. “I hear their fans sing You’ll Never Walk Alone and every time it is emotional.”
The match kicks-off at 13:30 GMT (8:30 a.m. ET).
