Premier League: Chelsea vs. Portsmouth
League’s number three Chelsea will take on the bottom team Portsmouth at Fratton Park, England on Wednesday at 19:45 GMT.
Portsmouth will try to get their first ever win over Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday. The team have lost 12 games and drawn one in their previous 13 meetings. They never beat Chelsea since December 1957. The Porthsmouth squad won 3-2 at home against Hull but it’s also their second Premier League win in 12 games.
Chelsea on the other hand had been on the top of the League’s table this season but are currently in the third spot behinde Manchester United and Arsenal. They have 65 points, just 2 points short Arsenal. With this game they’ll get a chance to be on the second spot again and get a closer gap behind league leader Manchester United with seven games remaining.
Portsmouth boss Avram Grant is without striker Aruna Dindane due to loan issues. Portsmouth’s injured list include Tal Ben-Haim (groin); John Utaka (groin); Hassan Yebda (knee); and Kevin-Prince Boateng (ankle).
For Chelsea, they will be welcoming back goalkeeper Petr Ceck who will return from a calf injury that he sustained during their game against Inter Milan in the Champions League in February. Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelloti will be without ‘keeper Hilario (groin); Michael Essien (knee); Ashley Cole (ankle); Jose Bosingwa (knee) and Branislav Ivanovic (knee).

UPDATE: Chelsea moved into the number 2 spot after defeating Portsmouth 5-0.
