Premier League: Chelsea vs. Sunderland

Chelsea will face Sunderland tonight for their first away match of the season. Carlo Ancelotti’s side finished a disappointing third last season, but he has already pushed the team to a Community Shield victory against United to give a sign of potential.

The Blues struggled on Saturday to get the three points off Hull City, but thanks to Didier Drogba’s efforts.

The Black Cats’ record against Chelsea in the Premier League is poor– they have not beaten them since October 2000. Both teams have started with a victory but when they last met, the Blues won 3-2 at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland midfielder Steed Malbranque only has a slight chance of playing after picking up an injury against the Wanderers on Saturday. The Blues will be expected to win this evening, so the pressure was never likely to be on the Black Cats.

The match kicks-off at 7:45 p.m. (2:45 p.m. ET).

UPDATE: Chelsea came from behind with three second half goals to beat hosts Sunderland 3-1. The Blues made it two Premier League wins out of two matches with Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and Deco scoring in an 18-minute stretch.
