Having defeated Chelsea on penalties to book a semi-final spot against Aston Villa, the Blue and Whites attempt to add to Rafa Benitez’s problems.

The score on that game was locked at 3-3 after extra time, but Paul Robinson emerged the hero in the penalty shoot-out to set up a date with the Villains in January.

UPDATE: Liverpool’s hopes of a top-four finish suffered a further setback as the Rovers produced a firm defensive display to hold the Reds to a goalless draw at Ewood Park.
