Premier League: Liverpool vs. Fulham
Fulham will play against Liverpool at Craven Cottage this afternoon in another must win game for Rafa Benitez’s men. Last Sunday, the Reds finally ended their four match losing streak by beating Manchester United.
Steven Gerrard will continue to watch from the sidelines, and FernandoTorres is doubtful, so that’s half of Liverpool’s strength out. Benitez has revealed he does not know when Gerrard will be able to return to first-team action.
The 29-year-old midfielder has missed two games with a groin injury, and Benitez has not ruled out the possibility of surgery.
“His progress is slow,” he told BBC News. We will have to decide what to do if he doesn’t progress as quickly as we would hope.”
The match kicks-off at 3:00 pm (11:00 am ET).
UPDATE: Liverpool’s title hopes suffered a huge setback as they lost 3-1 to Fulham and finished the match with nine players.
