Premier League: Liverpool vs. Wigan Athletic

The Reds can get their disappointing season back on track when they meet Wigan Athletic at Anfield tonight.

Arsenal came from behind to beat Rafa Benitez’s side last Sunday, closing the gap on Chelsea to six points. The loss leaves Liverpool rooted in eight place in the Premier League table, and it has become absolutely clear that they will have to work extra hard to retain their “Big Four”status.

The Reds have already suffered elimination from the Champions League after a dreadful group stage, although they will be in the next round of the Europa League.

Benitez is prepared to guarantee that his side will finish in the top four this season as he believes only minor changes need to be made.

The match kicks-off at 20:00 GMT.

UPDATE: Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Wigan was just their second at Anfield since September 26 but it will do much for the team’s shaky confidence.
