Premier League: Manchester City vs. Hull City

The Citizens host Hull City in their Premier League encounter at Eastlands and Robinho is back in contention after a three-month absence.

The Brazilian striker has not been involved for Mark Hughes’ side since August, after which he suffered a stress fracture on his international duty in Argentina.

Jimmy Bullard could return for the Tigers after sitting out the midweek win over Everton due to a stiff knee, while fellow midfielder Seyi Olofinjana may possibly come back from a hamstring injury.

A victory this afternoon would move Phil Brown’s side up to 10th placed Fulham’s 18 points and spread some momentous optimism around that this season isn’t going to end in tragedy.

The Citizens have drawn all 6 of their games since their victory against West Ham, so things are not quite as bad as they may seem for the big-spending club. However, Hughes knows that he cannot afford many more slip-ups, and will be desperate for three points this afternoon.

UPDATE: Bullard netted an 81st-minute penalty to put Manchester City to another draw following the 1-1 result. It was the Citizens’ seventh consecutive draw in the EPL, a winless sequence spanning two months.
