His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, 52, will be marrying Charlene Wittstock, 32, after several years of being together. They first met in 2000 but the exact date on when they became a couple is not known. They were seen together during the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
The couple announced their engagement four days after the June 19 wedding of Sweden‘s Crown Princess Victoria to the then commoner Daniel Westling.
The Prince has been on the throne since his father, Prince Rainier III, died in 2005. The love life of the prince has been the cover of the media for a very long time now due to his status. He has always been seen as a playboy. He currently has two children born out of wedlock to two different mothers, Jazmin Grace, 20, and Alexandre, 6. As they are illegitimate children, both cannot ascend to the throne after him.
Prince Albert’s elder sister, Her Royal Highness Princess Caroline, The Princess of Hanover, is the current heiress presumptive, and, thus she carry the title of The Hereditary Princess of Monaco.
