Randy Jackson Commentaries About American Idol

American Idol judge Randy Jackson contemplated on people focusing on judges instead of the contestants, of wanting a girl to win in the ninth season and helping Haiti earthquake victims.randy-jackson

“A lot is being made about us and what we do, how we judge, who’s on, who’s not on, what’s happening, all of that,” he told Access Hollywood. He said the show needs to focus on the contestants as they are the ones whose careers are supposed to jumpstart from the show.

The issue started when the first of the original three judges, Paula Abdul, left the show and was replaced by Ellen DeGeneres. This year, another pioneer judge is leaving the program as Simon Cowell announced he is done with the show. He will be producing The X Factor in the United States.

“The last two years boys have won back to back, so I am like, dude come on…we need a girl to win,” Jackson told CBS News.

David Cook won over David Archuleta in season 7 while Kris Allen was the surprise win over Adam Lambert in the last season.  The biggest names that were produced from the show were Carrie Underwood, season 4 winner, and the original champion Kelly Clarkson.

The judge also told MTV that Idol Gives Back will be back this season and it may help and give benefits to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
