Rawlinson To Remove Breast Implants for Australia
Two-time 400 meter hurdles world champion Jana Rawlinson announced that she will have her breast implants removed to improve her chances of winning a gold medal for Australia in the upcoming 2012 London Summer Olympics.
“Every time I raced I panicked about whether I was letting my country down, all for my own vanity. I absolutely loved having bigger boobs, but I don’t want to short-change Australia either,” said the star hurdler to Woman’s Day magazine.
She had the implants done after splitting up with then husband and coach Chris Rawlinson. At the same time, she changed the name she was using to Jana Pittman-Rawlinson, Pittman being her maiden surname. There are now plans that the couple will re-marry. They have a son named Cornelis Levi.
Aside from the world championships, Rawlinson is also a two-time gold medal winner for both 400 meter hurdles and 4×400 meters relay in the Commonwealth Games, a gold medal winner for the same two events at the 2000 World Junior Championships and another gold medal for 400 meter hurdles in 1999 World Youth Games.
