Razzie Award Nominations for the Worst of 2009 Announced

Still not confused with the so many awards being handed out during the last month? With accolades given away for films, movies, music, sports and even video games, one is probably swimming in confusion on who bagged what. The similarity is that they are the considered the “best” in their trade. It is just befitting that the “best” are honored.razzie-award

However, in the entertainment capital of the world, there is this award that honors the complete opposite. Yup, the worst ones, but hold on, they’re only for the movies, so the rest of the entertainment business can breathe again normally.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, commonly known as Razzies, is holding out their 30th edition this year on March 6, the day before the Academy Awards dish out their choices. It has been a tradition to bestow the “worst” honors one day before the Oscars.

So who are in the running? Well, Sandra Bullock is in the running to win one for All About Steve. This is in contrast to her winning streak for Best Actress for The Blind Side.

Halle Berry, became even more famous, after she gladly, gamely and sportingly, accepted her Worst Actress Award in 2004 for Catwoman, which is three years after she won her Oscar for Best Actress in Monster’s Ball.halle-berry-razzie-oscar She is pictured here when she accepted the award while holding her Oscar trophy.

What is rare for this year’s ceremonies is that it also has the categories for Worst of the Decade.
