Real Madrid Signs 7-Year-Old Prodigy
Real Madrid is investing in its future. According to reports, the football club has signed a 7-year-old Argentine prodigy, beating Spanish La Liga rival Atletico Madrid, which was reportedly also interested in getting the youngster.
Madrid spokesman Juan Tapiador told the Associated Press that Leonel Angel Coira will begin training with the club on September 6. Madrid is probably hoping that it has found a future Lionel Messi in Coira, who happens to look up to the Barcelona phenom as one of his idols. Messi was a teenager playing for Newell’s Old Boys youth team when he was signed by Barcelona in 2000. He has since helped the Spanish giant win 15 trophies.
Coira, in an interview with Argentine sports newspaper Ole last week, revealed a little bit about his playing style. According to the youngster, he would rather “provide the pass” than do the scoring himself.
