Real Madrid vs. Toronto FC

Tonight’s game between Real Madrid and Toronto FC is billed as an international friendly, but Los Galacticos manager Manuel Pellegrini views the match as an essential test for his team as it prepares for the start of La Liga.

Pellegrini also said there was a huge possibility that Kaka and Xabi Alonso would make their Madrid debuts in the contest, which was described by Toronto boss Chris Cummins as “a great honor.”

Cristiano Ronaldo will, of course, be the fan favorite and will likely treat the audience to a few of his tricks in the opening minutes.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. ET (1:30 a.m. CET) at the BMO Field in Toronto.

UPDATE: Real Madrid cruised to a 5-1 victory over Toronto before an appreciative record crowd of 22,089.

Raul scored twice, and Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Arjen Robben also found the back of the net for the Spanish side. Substitute Gabe Gala replied in the 75th minute for the Major League Soccer hosts.
