Yao-less Rockets rip Lakers 99-87 to even series (video)
No Yao, no problem.
The Houston Rockets managed to level the NBA Western Conference semifinal series at two games apiece after beating the Los Angeles Lakers 99-87 in game four on Sunday.
Aaron Brooks scored a career-high 34 points, Shane Battier had 23, including five 3-pointers and Luis Scola added 11 points and 14 boards as the Rockets played well without Yao Ming. The Chinese center broke his left foot in Game 3 and was forced to quit the remainder of the playoffs.
Pau Gasol notched 30 points for the Lakers, who host game five on Tuesday, but Kobe Bryant had only 15, making just seven of 17 shots.
