Oprah Winfrey announced that Rosie O’Donnell will be hosting a daytime talk show in her network OWN.

“Rosie is an undeniable talent who has captivated TV audiences for nearly 20 years,” said Winfrey in her statement. “She’s a true original, who brings her authentic voice, dynamic energy and pure passion to everything she does.”

O’Donnell previously hosted a daytime talk show named The Rosie O’Donnell Show which lasted from 1996 until 2002. The show won Outstanding Talk Show from the Daytime Emmy Awards from 1998 until 2002. She also won five times as Outstanding Talk Show Host. These two awards are currently dominated by Ellen DeGeneres and her show The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The comedian has been hosting her own daily Sirius XM Radio show since last November entitled Rosie Radio.

OWN kicks programming starting January 1, 2011. O’Donnell’s show will premiere next fall, sometime after Winfrey’s current daytime talk show wraps up.
