Russia’s Kseniya Sukhinova crowned Miss World 2008
On Saturday, Kseniya Sukhinova from Russia won the Miss World 2008 pageant held in South Africa.
Trindad and Tobago’s Gabrielle Walcott was second runner-up and India’s Parvathay Omanakuttan was first runner-up, from among 109 contestants.
The 21-year-old blonde beauty from the city of Tyumen, who was a crowd favorite, had won the Top Model award and stood third in the swimsuit competition. Miss Angola and Miss South Africa also made it to the top five.
She took over the title from Zhang Zi Lin of China to become the 58th Miss World. She was crowned after a two-hour long show that mixed some elements of travelogue and reality show.
Miss Sukhinova is from Siberia, studying for an engineering degree.
