Sandra Bullock Seeks New Restraining Order Against Stalker
A lawyer for Sandra Bullock has secured a temporary restraining order against a longtime stalker of the 45-year-old “The Blind Side” actress.
Lawyer Ed McPherson filed the petition on Bullock’s behalf against Thomas James Weldon, who previously volunteered to enter a mental institution in Tennessee. Bullock first secured a restraining order against Weldon in 2003. However, the order expired last year. In his petition, McPherson said Weldon has not stopped stalking Bullock despite the restraining order, sending the Oscar-winning actress numerous e-mails and faxes through the years.
McPherson wants Weldon prohibited from going near Bullock’s homes or movie sets. The petition also seeks protection for Bullock’s adopted son Louis. Weldon allegedly told staff at a Wyoming hospital last month that he drove from Tennessee to meet Bullock at her Jackson Hole home. Weldon also claimed of having telepathic communication with Bullock, court documents filed by the actress show.
A court hearing will be held on August 6 to determine if Bullock needs another three-year restraining order against Weldon.
