In 1972, Whang Kyu-bong of South Korea invented a cigarette that does away with the need for matches or lighters, and can be lit on a windy day. Apparently the cigarette has a tip anointed with sulfur and phosphorus, so you can strike it against a rough pad on the side of the packet to get it lit.
