Sexy Jenkins signs multi-million record deal
Opera babe Katherine Jenkins has signed the biggest classical recording deal in history as she set her sights on conquering the American charts.
The sexy songbird from Wales has ditched her record label Universal Classics & Jazz and signed up with Warner Music in a $10 million, five-album deal, which will see her move to Los Angeles in the New Year, reports British newspaper the Daily Telegraph.
In America she will be collaborating with opera star Placido Domingo and David Foster, the producer behind jazz singer Michael Buble and Josh Groban, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter.
The talented mezzo-soprano, who says on her website that she tries to emulate both Marilyn Monroe and Madonna, is one of the most successful British female soloists in history, with her last album Rejoice selling 500,000 copies.
Her albums feature arias, popular songs – some sung in Italian – as well as traditional hymns and classical crossover music.
Hmmm…If we had had this gorgeous ex-music teacher giving us piano lessons, it’s definite that we’d have spent a lot more time working on our fingering.
