Siegfried and Roy’s Comeback
It was five and a half years ago that Roy Horn was attacked by his tiger in a performance in Las Vegas. Last night on ABC’s 20/20, legendary illusionists Siegfried & Roy were interviewed by Elizabeth Vargas about the incident.
“They really wanted a final chance to get on the stage and say good night, goodbye, and thank you to all the fans who have supported them so devotedly,” Vargas said. “And they wanted to take this risk.”
Just this week, the master magicians took the stage again in a final show to benefit the Ruvo Institute in Las Vegas, raising more than $10 million.
“I’m at a part of my life now where I think I can give something back,” Siegfried Fischbacher said. “And this country and Las Vegas was so good to me for 45 years, and I think that was a perfect reason to do it.”
In the hour-long program, Vargas went with the duo at home, and paid attention to their story on how Horn was brutally attacked during a 2003 performance at The Mirage.
