Starbucks in Dazaifu: We need more coffee shops like this
Starbucks build coffee shops that attract people to hang out for a wide variety of reasons, and one of them is beautiful design and architecture. Yes, every Starbucks store has its own unique identity, but some are much more interesting than others.
This Starbucks is located near the Dazaifu Tenmangu, a major Shinto shrine in Japan. To make sure the design of the building fit in with its surroundings, Tokyo-based architecture firm Kengo Kuma and Associates decided to use over 2,000 wooden batons to create a symbolic 3D pattern around the store’s interior. More photos after the jump.
