State Farm: Submit your cause and receive funding of $25 000
State Farm has just announced the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program, now in its third year, that will be offering 40 causes a grant of $25 000 to help their communities. If you have an idea that you think could help your community, you are invited to submitted your cause through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook app that you can get for free from www.statefarm.com/neighborhoodassist.
The causes can be submitted starting from March 3 and until the deadline on 23rd March (or until 4000 cause submissions are received, whichever happens first). After the end of the submission period 200 causes will be chosen by the State Farm Youth Advisory Board based on scoring rubric. The last 200 will then be put to a public vote that lasts until May 16. The 40 causes that have received the most votes will be announced on May 27.
Last year, in 2013, the 40 causes that received the $25 000 grant were very diverse – from leadership opportunities for motivated, under-resourced teens to restoring vacant theatre; from helping children with disabilities with activities to helping in the fight against childhood hunger.
“Neighborhood Assist empowers individuals to identify problems in their communities and provides funding to help create a positive impact,” said Kellie Clapper, State Farm Assistant Vice President.
