Steelers’ Roethlisberger to Face Police Over Sexual Assault Allegation
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has hired a couple of topnotch criminal lawyers as he prepares to face police over a complaint filed by a 20-year-old from Georgia on Friday. Roethlisberger has hired lawyers to the stars Ed Garland and Don Samuel, as Milledgeville police prepare to question the National Football League player regarding a sexual assault allegation.
Milledgeville police chief Woodrow Blue said that they are making arrangements with Garland and Samuel to interview Roethlisberger, who has denied the allegation. The player’s lawyers said that they do not expect charges to be filed against their client. Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Frederic D. Bright, on the other hand, said that more interviews are needed before he can decide whether the allegation merits the filing of charges against the 28-year-old NFL star.
In her complaint, the 20-year-old Georgia College & State University student said that a man she identified as Roethlisberger “sexually assaulted or sexually manipulated” her. Police said Roethlisberger was seen with the woman in Milledgeville on Thursday night.
