Stefano Langone gets the boot on ‘Idol’ (VIDEO)
It was the end of the road for “American Idol” wild-card finalist Stefano Langone. The 21-year-old crooner from Kent, Washington got the boot Thursday night after over 52 million viewer votes were cast, following his performance Wednesday of Ne-Yo’s “Closer.” He was joined in the bottom three by Jacob Lusk and Haley Reinhart.
“It started my career, and that’s something you can’t put a price on,” Stefano told Ryan Seacrest after the elimination. “I’m just so blessed, I came this far, and it’s great! It really is!”
Stefano made a grand exit from the Fox talent contest with “Lately,” a song that has come to be closely associated with the dewy-eyed singer. With the departure of Stefano, and Paul McDonald who was eliminated last week, six contestants remain to compete for their shot at becoming this year’s “American Idol”. The remaining finalists are Casey Abrams, James Durbin, Lauren Alaina, Lusk, Reinhart and Scotty McCreery.
Next week, the contestants tackle the songs of Carole King, plus Bruno Mars performs.
