Steve Jobs Shows Up in Store; Steve Wozniak Joins the Line
Apple CEO Steve Jobs showed up in the Palo Alto store at around noon to observe the first day of sales of the latest Apple gadget – the iPad. Meanwhile, Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, joined the line at the Valley Fair store to buy three units.
The iPad finally hit the stores Saturday, April 3. Thousands line up in Apple stores across the country, some waiting since Friday.
In Valley Fair, the familiar face of Wozniak was seen lining up to grab three iPads. He had wanted to join enthusiastic crowds so he did not take advantage of pre-ordering the slate-sized gadget.
“To me, the waiting in line is like reliving the days you waited in line for concert tickets in college. Yeah, I could easily arrange to get an iPad in different ways. But I like to do this like everybody else,” he said. He also joined the line during the launch of iPhone.
Meanwhile, Jobs made a surprise visit at the Palo Alto store sometime noon. Joined by his wife and daughter. He chatted with some of the shoppers, checked the displays and watched store employees entertain potential buyers.
