Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets last month has introduced NBC’s Ann Curry to all her new-born babies.

Suleman had told the news correspondent in an interview that she was not receiving welfare.

Publicist Michael Furtney said Suleman didn’t consider the food stamps and supplemental security income to be welfare.

“In Nadya’s view, the money that she gets from the food stamp program … and the resources disabilities payments she gets for her three children are not welfare,” he said. “They are part of programs designed to help people with need, and she does not see that as welfare.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, Suleman gets $490 a month in food stamps. Three of her first children also get federal SSI because they are disabled, the Times reported.

those child are too small, two fragile. only an ill-minded, self-centered woman like herself would harm her own flesh and blood as such. its disgusting and inhumane. in my opinon, i'd rather see those kids go to good, loving, nurturing homes, otherwise their lives are pathetic & useless to her and she is only using them to get money and be a lazy bum, which disgust me continously. someone needs to step in..14 kids..way too much..and the mother is quite irresponsible. save the children...

they are children not kids and who says 14 is to much more children just means more children to love and if you want to talk about disgusting and inhumane it would be for people to not show their suport and love for both the children and their mother because the Lord loves them why shouldn't we?

Nadya should have delivered the babies in a 3rd world country so that she can really feel how difficult it is to raise, feed and take care of her kids without any support from no one. Responsible motherhood means having a job and thinking about the future of her kids. How can someone jobless like her be able to provide the needs of her kids?

we don't live in a third world country you and I neither one know what good great and wonderfull things these children could grow up and acomplish for the good of all and another things they might end up helping someone who ends up helping your children or children's children and as far as teaching her a lesson time will be her teacher she seems to be a very compasionate person wanting her children to learn the virtue of sharing so the earth can be filled with less selfish people and as far as housing she should be a canidate for extreme home makeover they have helped people in much less need as nadia sullamin

i completely agree with you kc the more people that are out there trying to support this woman the better, it is a gift to be able to carry children and if she wants to have 14 children so what, good on her and good luck to her

you know i say good on her she is proving to people that FEMALES are the stonger race, she must have gone through hell trying to carry those babys and so what if she already has six other kids have you people not noticed angelina jolie lately she has six of her own and still wants more? celebritys and rich people are not the only people that deserve to have children!!

I AM VERY HAPPY SHE'S GETTING HELP FOR HER CHILDREN, EVERY BODY ELSE IN THE WORLD WHO HAVE 3-4 CHILDREN END UP ON WELFARE,WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IN HELPING HER ATLEAST SHE LOVE HER KIDS AND WANT TO KEEP ALL OF THEM NOT JUST GIVE THEM AWAY.
