Suzuki Cup Semifinals 2nd Leg: Philippines vs. Indonesia Live Stream (Free Online Video)
Philippines vs. Indonesia Live Stream: The Philippine national football squad will try to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Indonesia when the two teams collide anew at the Gelaro Bung Karno Stadium tonight for the 2nd leg of the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup semifinals.
Indonesia’s lone goal in the first leg came in the first half when Uruguay-born striker Cristian Gonzales scored a header–sending hordes of hometown fans to an utter frenzy. It was the first time the Philippines lost a game in this year’s tournament but coach Simon McMenemy said they will stick to their game plan when they play again in front of a hostile crowd.
The Azkals face a huge task as they need to beat Indonesia by two goals to advance into the finals. A victory by a single goal would force an extra time, and if no team scores in the additional period, a penalty shootout will be used to determine the rightful squad to face Malaysia in the finals. Defending champions Vietnam failed to score in their home game Saturday against Harimau Malaya as their opponents won 2-0 on aggregate.
Meanwhile, the ASEAN Football Federation confirmed yesterday that the Philippines can host the finals slated on December 29, granting they can provide a stadium that suits international standards. The requirements include sufficient lighting for broadcast television, wifi for the media, and venue security.
The match kicks-off at 8:00 p.m. (Manila time).
UPDATE: Uruguay-born striker Christian Gonzales scored from outside the penalty box in the first half to lift Indonesia to a 1-0 victory over the Philippines in the 2nd leg of their semifinal encounter. The Reds and Whites won 2-0 on aggregate and will next face Malaysia in the finals.
