Sydney Festival comes with 104 events
Sydney Festival 2014 is made up of 104 events that take place across Sydney. With 33 indoor and outdoor venues where 722 artists from 17 countries will be performing, Sydney Festival is the place to be January 9-27. If you haven’t made your travel plans yet, there’s no time like now to start thinking about it. Over the years millions of people have visited Sydney Festival, each year attracting more than 500 000 people.
This year you can expect to see performances by known names such as Chaka Khan, Mike Patton and Lee Ronaldo, just to name a few. Amanda Palmer will be doing ten shows in a row during the festival. You can also see a one-woman show La Voix Humaine by dutch theatre company Toneelgroep Amsterdam – this is for you if you like minimalist theatre and are not too afraid of emotion. Donny Benet & the Donny Benet Show Band, an interactive cinema experience “The Very Near Future”, classical music under the stars “Symphony in The Domain”, the rubber duck (wait, what?) – just a few more things to mention.
“If you are really into your arts, Sydney Festival will not disappoint, with opera, dance, theatre and music acts from across Australia and the world.” says Festival Director, Lieven Bertels.
