Sydney sky turns red as dust storm hits city

My friend sent me this picture and I thought it was Photoshopped—until I saw several people on Twitter talking about it!

Sydney and large parts of the state of New South Wales have been shrouded in a thick layer of dust, cutting visibility and casting a reddish glow over the region.

People with asthma and other breathing problems have been advised to stay indoors, and motorists have been urged to drive with their lights on.

Most international flights into the city have been diverted to Melbourne. Other trips have been delayed.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the fiery haze was the result of the sun hitting the blanket of dust.
