David Archuleta returned on the stage to sing his third single “Touch My Hand” before heading out to the United Kingdom for a concert tour.

Because the panel used their one-time-only Judges’ Save power last week on Matt Giraud, two finalists had to be eliminated, and those two were first Lil Rounds, and then Anoop Desai.

Kris Allen brought the house down with his acoustic version of “She Works Hard for the Money.” It was Donna Summer by way of Jason Mraz! The arrangement was awesome and he has really matured as an artist.

As usual Adam Lambert did not disappoint the judges of American Idol. And his soulful rendition of If I Can’t Have You captivated the fans of the popular Fox signing competition.

Accompanied by the string section, Kris Allen sang Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova’s “Falling Slowly” from the 2007 film “Once.”

Ryan Seacrest made fun of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul–showing fake baby pictures of the two judges. After that, the “American Idol” host showed a film clip of Frankie Avalon singing “Venus,” a song from 1959, the year Simon was born. And—surprise! The video screen went up and Frankie came out to sing it himself.

Born in 1985, Matt Giraud sang Stevie Wonder’s “Part-Time Lover.” Based from the tone of his voice, it was a pretty good song selection. Great performance and nice arrangement. But please Matt, don’t try to look and sound like Justin Timberlake next time.

Kris Allen captured his female fans with his rendition of “All She Wants to Do Is Dance” by Don Henley. Surrounded by groupies, Kris gave the song a jazzy twist, but unfortunately, the judges didn’t like the heartthrob’s cover.

Carrie Underwood might have won the top award at the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards last night at the MGM Grand, but her giant red dress during her performance of “I Told You So” made a bigger splash.

Did anyone else just see David Spade put chewing gum under his seat during the “Top Downloads” telecast of American Idol?

Dressed like a drag queen from another planet, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter played the piano filled with pink bubbles before going nuts on stage. Her performance was dynamic… but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy her spectacle…not my kind of music.
