Australia’s Bushfire Arsonist Named

A court has lifted a ban on identifying the man behind Australia’s deadly bushfires, despite fears of possible attacks by angry residents.

The suspect, Brendan Sokaluk, a 39-year old man was named after the court lifted the ban to conceal his identity. An order banning the publishing of his address or his image is still in effect.

Fake MySpace leads to death threats

Wicked hackers have stolen a woman’s life, creating a fake MySpace page that has prompted death threats.
The page on the phony social networking site included photos of the woman, personal information, the type of car she drove and explicit messages.

Shanae Starks told how she had been under attack for weeks after friends found the page and alerted her.
She said: “I thought, ‘Oh, this could cost me my life’. It’s not my page, but that’s my face.”
Her humiliation turned to fear when the messages started including threats and comments about gangs.

Microsoft adds Facebook-like features to Live.com

Microsoft announced Thursday it has overhauled its Live.com search site to include some of the social networking features made famous by companies like Facebook.

Motorola plans to launch Android Social Smart Phone in 2009

Motorola is getting ready to release a new smart phone based on G1’s Android phone that will support Gmail and Youtube but will focus on social networking features such as Facebook and MySpace according to BusinessWeek.
Motorola’s version of the android will also feature an iPhone-like touch screen and a slide-out “QWERTY” keyboard just like the G1 Android Phone or BlackBerry’s Storm.
