Taylor Lautner will be back to play Jacob Black in the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon,” according to director Chris Weitz.

There had been rumors that a ‘new’ actor might play the role when the follow-up to Stephenie Meyer’s vampire saga hits movie screens come Nov. 20. But Meyer just confirmed the casting news on her official website.

“I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.
