Ted-Williams-Homeless-Man-Radio-VoiceTed Williams, a homeless man with a radio voice to die for, is getting a flood of work offers a couple of days after a video of him shot by the Columbus Dispatch became a hit on YouTube.

The viral video shows Williams panhandling along a Hudson Street ramp near I-71 in Columbus, Ohio, while holding a handwritten sign that tells about his “God-given” voice. Williams says in the video that he is a former radio announcer who lost everything because of drugs and alcohol. He, however, says that he has been sober for two years.

In the video, Williams speaks with a smooth, baritone voice as he delivers lines such as “When you’re listening to nothing but the best of oldies, you’re listening to Magic 98.9!” Williams’ voice betrays his bedraggled look, but it sure made people notice as the video quickly became an Internet sensation with more than 4 million views to date.

As the video became viral, so was the job offers, with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the NFL reportedly among those interested to hire Williams, who has also secured appearances on several television shows.
