Thomas Heatherwick, a London based designer has designed a biomass power station for the bank of the river Tees in United Kingdom.
Called BEI-Teesside, this 49.3 megawatt biomass power station will be covered in panels planted with indigenous grasses.
The building that looks like a green volcano is said to provide power for over 50,000 homes. Combining innovative technology and design, the power station will reduce carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to coal or gas fired power stations.
