Bloom box

There’s a new device used by some large corporations in the U.S. that can generate power on the spot even without a connection to an electric power grid. The device is called Bloom box.

Over 100 silicon valley start-ups are already working on this new power system, including Bloom Energy, who is about to make its invention public.

Would this replace the big power plants?  According to K.R.Sridhar, founder of Bloom Energy, the Bloom box could power an average U.S. Home. Also, Sridhar said companies like FedEx, Wal-Mart, eBay and Google are already using Bloom boxes as their energy source.
