The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: The Giving Journal 2015
As the end of 2014 approaches to make way for another wonderful year, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf finally launched their much coveted Giving Journal 2015. This is not just about collecting stickers and getting the journal. CBTL partnered with Real LIFE Foundation and together they aim to give the gift of education to people who needs it the most — all through this Giving Journal.
“It’s not just about making a nice planner that people can use for the year. It’s become a medium for us to give back to our customers by giving them a journal that lets them brew their best versions of themselves,” said Real LIFE Foundation executive director Lynn Nawata.
The Real LIFE Foundation
This foundation stands for Leadership, Integrity, Faith and Excellence. It was established in 2003 with the goal of giving financial assistance to less fortunate but deserving high school and college scholars. All students under this program are mentored with life skills on a weekly basis which will give scholars every opportunity to succeed in the real world. To date, the Real LIFE Foundation has financially assisted more than 1,000 scholars and produced over 200 university graduates. One of them is Ferdie Javier, who is now an engineer.
“The price that you pay for a single drink means so much for me. It can be my allowance for three days,” Javier said. “Real LIFE Foundation helped me to have a purpose in life, higher dreams, and the realization that there is something better I can do in this world.” He then added that he wouldn’t be an engineer if it had not been for Real LIFE Foundation and CBTL’s help.
