The Nexus One Teardown (video)

Google Nexus One Teardown

The Nexus One was torn apart by the guys from iFixIt. They bought the phone for $530 and disassembled it. As always, the iFixIt folks posted the pictures complete with instructions.

The teardown reveals the brands used to build the phone. Nexus One features Samsung OLED touchscreen display and Broadcomm bluetooth and wireless chips. Interestingly, Zune HD also uses the Samsung-branded OLED display while iPod touches use Broadcomm for their wireless chips.

Some other chips identified:

  • Samsung 943 KA1000015M-AJTT
  • Skyworks (SWKS) SKY77336 GSM power amplifier
  • Qualcomm (QCOM) PM7540 power management chip
  • The TI (TXN) TPS65023 integrated Power Management IC

If you want to try it on your very fresh Nexus One, then be ready to void your warranty.
