Tiger Woods Survives Hot Dog Attack
Tiger Woods is back in the news, thanks to a deranged man who threw a hot dog at him during the final round of the Frys.com Open on Sunday at Corde Valle, San Martin, California.
Woods was preparing for his birdie putt on the 16th hole when the male spectator breached the gallery ropes and came rushing towards the green before throwing a hot dog in a bun at the former world no.1. “I don’t know how he tried to throw (the hot dog), but I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling,” Woods said. “It looked like he wanted to be arrested, really, because he laid on the ground, put his hands behind his back and turned his head. So it was one of those things. It was bizarre.”
The hot dog landed on the green but missed Woods, who eventually missed the birdie putt. Woods closed out the final round with a 68 and finished the tournament in a tie for 30th place. Bryce Molder took the title via a five-hole playoff against Briny Baird.
