Titans QB Vince Young Sorry Over Strip Club Brawl
Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young has regretted going to the Dallas club where he was involved in a brawl that resulted in the NFL player being booked for a misdemeanor assault citation. Young said he “made a mistake” by going to Club Onyx on Sunday after an autograph session in Dallas.
“Just made a mistake, made a mistake even being there and let that guy provoke me into doing what I did,” said Young. Video surveillance in the club showed Young talking with several people before suddenly attacking a certain Creiton Kinchen, who allegedly insulted the quarterback’s alma mater, University of Texas.
The bar brawl could result in a punishment by the NFL, but Young is hoping commissioner Roger Goodell would be a little more lenient. However, Titans coach Jeff Fisher is bracing for the worst. “The league will look into it. The commissioner is very strict about these types of things, and I’m sure we’ll hear from him after we get more information,” Fisher said.
Young is coming off a season where he went 8-2 after getting back his place as the Titans’ starting quarterback, replacing Kerry Collins. Young lost his starting position after coming down with an injury in the first game of the 2008 season. However, team owner Bud Adams personally ordered Young’s reinstatement as starter following the Titans’ 0-6 start last season.
