TLC to Air “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” Series

It’s official. Sarah Palin will get her own reality show. Discovery Communications announced on Thursday that the eight-part series called “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will be aired by its TLC network. Mark Burnett, who is the man behind reality show hits “Survivor” and “The Apprentice,” has been tapped to produce the series.

“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” will have the former governor and vice-presidential candidate acting as a tour guide as she shows viewers the unique places, people, and events in her home state. TLC network has yet to announce the premiere date of the show, which would be Palin’s second foray into television after joining Fox News as a political analyst and contributor in January.

Reports said Discovery edged out A&E Network for the show. Earlier reports said that networks were a little hesitant to take on the series because of Palin’s asking price, which allegedly was not lower than $1 million per episode.
