2010 Rose Parade Live Steam: The Tournament of Roses Parade, also known as the Rose Parade, is a festival of flowers and a way to celebrate the New Year for the Americans. It also includes music and equestrians and a college football game parade. The parade is produced by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association.
The 121st Rose Parade will kick-off Friday, January 1, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. (PST), featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units. Joyful, glue-stained volunteers enthusiastically applied the finishing touches to the spectacle’s 41 floats. The parade will be led by grand marshal Capt. Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, who famously landed a US Airways jet safely in the Hudson River last January.
This year’s theme is “A cut above the rest.” It will be broadcast live on ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, KTLA (Tribune), NBC, RFD-TV, Travel Channel and Univision. Live TV coverage of the parade will also make it possible for people in more than 40 countries to watch the event. You can watch the 2010 Rose Parade Live Stream on KTLA.com or Ustream.tv.
The scene is expected to draw more than one million tourists to Pasadena with its entertaining displays. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts good weather for today’s parade and Rose Bowl game, unfortunately, traffic won’t be so nice since several roads and avenues around the Colorado Boulevard parade route in Pasadena will be closed.
And don’t forget that today, the “Move Over Law” goes into effect. Basically, it gives California Highway Patrol officers some teeth to enforcing drivers who dangerously blow by emergency and Caltrans vehicles and tow trucks working roadside.
