Toyota upgrades its violin-playing robot
The latest version of Toyota‘s violin-playing robot was presented over last weekend in Tokyo. The 5-foot-tall droid, which was first introduced in 2007, has 17 computer-controlled joints and uses its mechanical fingers to press the strings correctly and bows with its other arm. According to the world’s largest automobile manufacturer, the robot has human-like dexterity that could be applied to helping the elderly on daily tasks.
