If it’s supposed to be any indication of a good film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the sequel to the original Transformers movie by Michael Bay, has amassed approximately $55 million on opening Wednesday alone. This makes it the best movie to open on Wednesday domestic box office.

The previous record-holder was, apparently, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. That movie grossed at around $44.2 million on opening day.

The Transformers figure includes $16 million from local midnight runs, which comes in third as compared to The Dark Knight’s $18.5 million, and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’s $16.9 million.
