Tyler Perry is Highest Paid Man in Entertainment

Multitalented Tyler Perry of films such as “Precious” and “Madea’s Big Happy Family” has been recognized by Forbes magazine as the highest-paid man in the entertainment industry.

In its annual list of Entertainment’s Highest-Paid Men, Forbes said Perry raked in the most dollars from May 2010 to May 2011. According to Forbes, Perry, who writes, directs, produces, and stars in most of his films, earned $130 million during the period. The 42-year-old actor-director-producer-writer also earned a lot from his TV shows “House of Payne” and “Meet the Browns.”

Coming in a far second to Perry was blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who leaned on the billion-dollar earning “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” to get back on track following underachievers “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Prince of Persia.” Bruckheimer earned $113 million to beat Steven Spielberg for second place. Spielberg earned $107 million thanks for being one of the producers of “Hereafter” and “True Grit.”

Rounding out the top five were musician Elton John ($100 million) and “The X-Factor” producer Simon Cowell ($90 million).
