U.S. Congressman Weiner: I Posted Crotch Shot on Twitter
New York Rep. Anthony Weiner has finally found the courage to take ownership of his own crotch.
Congressman Weiner admitted in a press conference on Monday that the picture of a man’s crotch that appeared on his Twitter account was his. “Last Friday night I tweeted a photograph of myself that I intended to send as a direct message as part of a joke to a woman in Seattle,” Weiner said. “Once I realized I posted it to Twitter I immediately took it down and said I had been hacked.”
The turn around comes more than a week since the lawmaker representing New York’s 9th congressional district denied ever posting the picture. Despite calling his action “a very dumb thing to do,” the 46-year-old Democrat said he was not resigning his post, as he did not violate any law by sending the lewd photo. “I don’t see anything I did that violated any rules of the House. I don’t see anything that violated my oath of office to uphold the Constitution,” said the seven-term congressman.
