UFC Seals FOX Deal
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has agreed to become a part of the FOX network, at least for the next seven years.
UFC president Dana White announced on Thursday that the seven-year deal was completed this week, giving the premier MMA organization a permanent network for its events. Under the agreement, the UFC will be shown on FOX network and cable affiliates FX and Fuel TV. Live UFC fights will be shown on both FOX and FX, which will carry “The Ultimate Fighter” beginning spring 2012. “The UFC is finally where it belongs — on the No. 1 network in the country and aligned with the most prestigious sports properties in the world. I’ve always said that the UFC will be the biggest sport in the world, and with this relationship it will become a reality,” White said during a press conference to announce the deal.
FOX will show its first UFC fight on November 12 in a still to be determined event.
