US Open 2010: Caroline Wozniacki vs Maria Sharapova Live Stream

Wozniacki vs. Sharapova Live Stream: Danish top seed Caroline Wozniacki will meet 2006 US Open winner Maria Sharapova in a blockbuster Labor Day match at Arthur Ashe Stadium following their respective third-round victories over Taiwan’s Young-Jan Chang and American Beatrice Capra on Saturday.

I guess this is the most intriguing match of the tournament so far. Wozniacki, who is on a mission to capture her first Grand Slam crown, defeated Chang 6-1, 6-0, in an hour and 13 minutes, while Sharapova made her way into the fourth round after beating Capra in a total of two sets, 6-0 6-0.

“I need to be ready,” Wozniacki told reporters. “I know she [Sharapova] is going to attack on the first ball. I need to be fast.”

Wozniacki inherited the top seed in Flushing Meadows when Serena Williams withdrew because she is still recovering from a foot surgery. The 20-year-old from Odense is riding an 11-match winning streak and has gone 17-1 since Wimbledon, picking up titles in Copenhagen, Montreal and New Haven. But can she match Sharapova’s groundstrokes? There’s only one way to find out.

UPDATE: Wozniacki defeated Sharapova, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2010 US Open.
